ไม่ขอให้มีความสุขตลอดไป เพราะเป็นไปไม่ได้ แต่เมื่อต้องเจอความทุกข์ ก็ขอให้มีจิตที่สงบ

ไม่ขอให้มีความสุขตลอดไป
เพราะเป็นไปไม่ได้
แต่เมื่อต้องเจอความทุกข์
ก็ขอให้มีจิตที่สงบ
ไม่เร่งร้อนไปกับทุกข์ที่ต้องเจอ

I don't wish to be happy forever,
for that is impossible.
But when I must encounter suffering,
I do wish to have a calm mind,
not harrowed by the suffering encountered.

ไม่ขอให้มีสุขภาพแข็งแรงตลอดไป
เพราะความเป็นจริง..สังขารนั้นไม่เที่ยง
แต่เมื่อต้องพบเจอกับความเจ็บป่วย
ก็ขอให้ใจนั้นไม่ป่วยตาม

I don't wish to be in strong health forever,
for in reality all compounded things are impermanent.
But when I must experience illness,
I do wish for the mind not to be also ill.

ไม่ขอให้ร่ำรวย
เพราะต้นทุนแต่ละคนไม่เท่ากัน
แต่ขอให้มีความสุขกับสิ่งที่มีพอเพียง
และอิ่มเต็มจากข้างในจิตใจ
แล้วเราก็จะรวยและสุขใจ
เพราะไม่ทุรนทุรายร้องขอในสิ่งที่ไม่มี

I don't wish to be wealthy,
for all are not equal in their capitals.
But I do wish to be happy with what there is sufficiently
and be sated from within the mind so that
I will then be rich and happy -
minded for not restlessly pining for what there is not.

ไม่ขอให้พบเจอแต่สิ่งดี ๆ
เพราะสิ่งดี ๆ นั้นมีเป็นบางเวลา
แต่ขอให้เข้าใจในความเป็นจริงว่า..
ทุกคนต้องประสบพบเจอความผิดหวัง
เพราะมันคือสัจธรรม

I don't wish to come across only good things,
for good things come along only once in a while.
But I do wish to understand the reality that everybody has to meet
with disappointment,
for that is the truth.
